  •      Easter is an exciting time at the Jimmie Hale Mission ministries...

At the Jimmie Hale Mission, we celebrate Easter because "if anyone is in Christ," they get a new life and a fresh start (2 Corinthians 5:17).  Getting a fresh start means a lot to the men, women and children we serve; a fresh start resurrects hope.

How many people can you help this Easter?

You can help resurrect hope in the lives of those we serve.  How?  By sponsoring an Easter meal.  At the Jimmie Hale Mission, we see everyday how a life resurrected can start with the simple blessing a meal.

You can provide a meal for just $1.95.  Ten meals are only $19.50 and so on.  When you give, you change lives.

Click here to give your gift today.

  •      After suffering damage from the April 27th tornadoes, our Mission Possible Bargain Center in Hanceville is open for business!

Damaged store re-opens to help damaged community

The April 27th tornadoes affected many people in the surrounding areas of Birmingham.  One of those areas was Hanceville, about 40 minutes north of Birmingham.  Many people lost their homes and our own Mission Possible Bargain Center was severely damaged.

A wonderful turnout at the Grand Re-Opening of the Hanceville Mission Possible Bargain Center!

We recently celebrated the Grand Re-Opening with a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony.  Hanceville Mayor Kenneth Nail and several representatives of the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce came out to celebrate this blessing with us, along with several other members of the community.

Fox 6 News coverage of the event

One woman's story of help and hope after the storms

One such member of the community that was there was Brenda Kissock.  Brenda lost her home in the April 27th tornadoes, but thankfully, neither she nor anyone in her family was hurt.  But rebuilding after losing everything is difficult.

But thanks to the bargain center, Brenda and her family were able to purchase clothes and then later, household items and furniture to fil her new home.

"My family and I greatly appreciate the help we received from the Jimmie Hale Mission's Mission Possible Bargain Center store in Hanceville following the April 27th tornado.  Having lost almost all our material possessions, it was a blessing to be able to get clothing and then later, replace our furniture when we were able to find a new home," said Brenda.

Here, the Director of our Mission Possible Bargain Centers, Adam Hazel,
takes part in a prayer of dedication to start the ceremony.

We're so blessed to once again be part of the community and to be able to supply bargains and blessings through the works of our store.

For those of you interested in getting a bargain (and in giving a blessing), be sure to shop Hanceville's Grand Re-Opening sale on Saturday, March 24th.  As mentioned in the Fox 6 clip above, shoppers will receive 25% off their entire purchase from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Hanceville store.  Click here for directions.

Mission Possible Bargain Centers are fundraising thrift stores of the Jimmie Hale Mission.  All proceeds benefit our ministries including Discovery Clubs, Jessie's Place, and our Royal Pines Recovery Center in Blount County.

  •       Watching shows like "Storage Wars" and "Auction Hunters" can be fun, but fighting the clutter in your own home is not!

We may not be able to help you actually clean out your closet,
but we can take your unwanted items and turn them into a blessing!

While it's fun to watch shows where people find treasures among the clutter, it's not as much cleaning through the clutter at home.  But instead of letting those items in storage cause a war, you can donate them to the Jimmie Hale Mission ministries where they will be a blessing to someone in need.

CBS 42 clip on how your donated items will be put to good use!

When you donate your unwanted items to any of our Mission Possible Bargain Centers, you help the homeless and hurting men, women and children we serve.  Donated items are sold at our fundraising thrift stores, and all proceeds benefit the Jimmie Hale Mission ministries, including Jessie’s Place, our shelter for women and children.  Items needed include clothing, household items, electronics, furniture, books, and other accessories.

So clean out your closets, or better yet, avoid monthly storage unit fees, and instead let your donation help those less-fortunate.

  •      Virginia College students were lookin' good while helping others less-fortunate...

Virginia College students performed massages as part of the event,

Students in the Cosmetology and Therapeutic Massage programs at Virginia College in Birmingham recently held an event at the Sheraton Hotel where they donated services as part of a program they named "A Season of Refreshing."

During the event, students performed services such as massages, manicures and more.  Students donated their time and skills, and funds paid for the services offered were donated to Jessie's Place, our shelter for women and children and another organization.

Virginia College students performed manicures as well.

Overall, the Virginia College students raised $600 for the homeless women and children of Jessie's Place.

"We [were] proud to offer our services... at this event," said Patricia Taylor, cosmetology floor manager at Virginia College in Birmingham.  "Not only are we displaying the skills our students learn at Virginia College, but we are raising funds for two very deserving charities."

Thank you so much everyone at Virginia College who made this event possible.  We are humbled and blessing to have been chosen as a recipient.
