  • For the last few years Ben Klein, a student at the Alabama School of Fine Arts, has participated in a fundraiser for the dance department. Ben has sold Boston Butts to his friends and family but has asked that they donate them to the Jimmie Hale Mission.  This year Ben’s hard work resulted in 22 Boston Butts, with an average weight of 8.5 lbs. each, being donated to the Mission.

“I know your guests will enjoy a Memorial Day feast of delicious BBQ compliments of the Alabama School of Fine Arts,” said Susan Klein, Ben’s mother.

We are so grateful for Ben and his heart to help our ministry.  No ifs, ands or BUTTS…he’s just a great kid!

Our neighbors, Integrated Medical Systems International (IMS), went on a mission for the Mission….well, sort of!

In an effort to be healthier, IMS initiated a “Scale Back IMS” program for its employees and committed to donating one dollar for every pound lost to the Mission.  IMS employees lost a total of 475 pounds and rounded up their donation to an even $500! We thank IMS for their generosity and wish them continued health!

I was reminded recently of the significance of the word “all.”  All is inclusive, it means the sum total, any, every, everything, always.

I then thought about some familiar Bible verses that referred to all.  Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”  Then I John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify (cleanse) us from all unrighteousness.”  Our sins separate us from God but confession of sin and Christ’s cleansing lead us to reconciliation with Him.

Romans 8:28 continues by saying, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”  I Thessalonians 5:18 says, “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:4 says to rejoice in the Lord always and Philippians 4:13 informs us that we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength.  We conclude with Philippians 4:6,7 which says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Be encouraged and strengthened as you travel the road of life, especially when encountering the challenges, struggles and adversity that life beings;  knowing that God is all knowing, all powerful and all present!
