  "Scan-A-Meal" Success

       Western Supermarket shoppers help feed the homeless and hungry...

       Western Supermarket's President Darwin Metcalf presented a check to Tony Cooper of the Jimmie Hale Mission from the generous donations of their shoppers.

       For 11 years, Western shoppers have supported the homeless and hungry by opting to "Scan-A-Meal" for $1.95 when they check out at the store. 

       This year's donation of $12,049 provided 6,178 warm meals to those who needed it.  During the 11-year span of Western's partnership with the Mission, shoppers have donated a total of $123,725 to provide 63,448 warm meals.
