2011Kids get ready to help the Jimmie Hale Mission through the Holiday Placemat Project...
Around the Birmingham and surrounding areas, school children, Sunday school classes and even home-school groups are gearing up for the annual Holiday Placemat Project.

Students from Vernon Elementary were happy to participate last year.
Here, they stand with "Happy Thanksgiving" banners they also made
just to share with us!Kids help by coloring in the blank placemats we provide and then when they are, they send them in to the Jimmie Hale Mission. The placemats are then used to decorate our dining halls at all of our shelter facilities. This way, the homeless and hungry will know that someone is thinking of them.

Be sure to send in completed placemats by November 18 for us to have them in time for Thanksgiving. You can also send in placemats (again, if you'd like) by December 19 for us to use them for Christmas as well.
