•      Christmas in August may officially be done, but we're still celebrating the spirit of Christmas at the Jimmie Hale Mission ministries!

Volunteers Charlotte and Sean, from Waste Management, were all smiles as they "served" up the winning time!

Throughout the week leading up to "Christmas in August," we were incredibly blessed to have many local business organizations volunteer with us in volunteer competition.  Business groups competed to see who could serve lunch the fastest to the homeless and hungry at our shelter.

CBS 42 visited us on the final day of the competition to see first-hand all
the good works our business volunteers were doing

Our volunteers came from the Birmingham Business Journal, Intermark Group, employees of AL Power/Southern Co., Waste Management and Evans Services.

Our winning group was Waste Management who served meals with a 2 minutes and 43 seconds!

Fox 6 helped us kick Christmas in August - they visited on the first day of the
competition and helped promote our Christmas in August theme

If you would like to help us continue celebrating the spirit of caring and sharing, you can by providing a meal to someone who needs it most.  Or, you can volunteer to help serve meals too!  Businesses can also volunteer by serving a meal on their lunch hour.

Thank you to everyone who has helped support "Christmas in August" and we look forward next year's celebration!
