Royal Pines of the Jimmie Hale Mission Ministries
to break ground on facility expansion
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., March 31, 2010 - Royal Pines Center, an extension of the Jimmie Hale Mission located in Blount County, will break ground on a much-needed facility expansion on Wednesday, April 7, at 2 p.m.
The expansion will add an arm to the existing dormitory of the rural, in-resident recovery center and will allow for the facility to house and help even more men struggling with substance abuse in our community. The additional construction will shape the form of the building into that of a cross when viewed from the top.
Entrance to the Royal Pines Center facility in Blount CountyFounded in 1995, Royal Pines Center is a 16-week, Bible-based recovery center for men and includes individual counseling sessions, group Bible studies, work therapy, education remediation and career readiness. Many of those at Royal Pines have never been homeless, yet its focus is trying to help men before they end up on the streets.
The expansion of the facility is sponsored by Regions Bank, which has helped the Jimmie Hale Mission apply for a Federal Home Loan Bank Grant for the construction of this project. "Regions is proud to support the Jimmie Hale Mission's expansion of Royal Pines Recovery Center because of the opportunities it will afford to those most in need within our community," said Regions North Central Alabama President Bill Horton. "Jimmie Hale Mission's long history of serving homeless men and encouraging healthier lifestyles is commendable and will continue to serve our community well through the growth of Royal Pines."
The groundbreaking ceremony on April 7 will feature several local and state politicians and dignitaries and is open to all members of the community. Royal Pines Center is located at 5 Guinns Cove Rd. in Hayden, AL.
