2010Members of the Helena and Alabaster Junior Girl Scout Troop 993 worked to spread the love for Valentine's Day.
The girls made blankets and distributed them to the residents at Jessie's Place in Birmingham. Jessie's Place, a ministry of the Jimmie Hale Mission, is a shelter for women and children.
Members of the Junior Girl Scout Troop 993 from Helena and Alabaster
threw a Valentine's Day party for children at Jessie's Place.The blanket project helped the troop win the Bronze Award, the highest award a Junior Girl Scout can earn.
The fifth-graders also organized a Valentine's Day party and talent show for the women and children at Jessie's Place.
