Helping People Get Back to Work and Back to Life

The Jimmie Hale Mission has a holistic approach in addressing homelessness. We begin by helping with the basic immediate needs of food, shelter and clothing. Our program also deals with the social, emotional and spiritual needs of our clients.

Our substance abuse recovery program focuses on addiction and our learning centers help with educational needs and job readiness. Most of our clients are with us for several months – working hard to get their lives back.

Mission clients have come from all kinds of occupational backgrounds including the legal profession, skilled labor and business world.

Even though we hire a good number of our clients, we do not have jobs for them all. We need employers to offer employment to our program graduates. We work with them preparing for a job, and NOW THEY NEED AN OPPORTUNITY! They desire to work, and they are ready for work.

Matching Gifts

Double, or Even Triple, Your Donation to the Mission!

Did you know that corporate matching can double or even triple your gift to The Jimmie Hale Mission? The process may be as simple as completing a standard matching gift form from your employer and mailing it to The Jimmie Hale Mission along with your gift. The potential for increased gift income is great, and, with donors taking an active role, many companies can realize the importance of supporting the Mission through matching gifts.

Consider this: Companies, sometimes through corporate foundations, will match employee gifts to nonprofits with ratios as high as three-to-one. In other words, the company will contribute $3 for every $1 given by the individual. So, if an employee chooses to donate $1,000, in conjunction with the corporate matching gift program, the total gift would be $3,000.

If your company does not presently participate, ask your human resources director how you can help start a corporate matching program. It is a great way to put your dollars (and your employer’s) to work in Birmingham.
